New on Outschool: Music Theory 1:1 for students ages 10-16. Bring your theory homework or your curiosity about how music works. We will work through exercises together to understand the fundamentals of music theory.

I believe that music lessons should be student focused. Not everyone wants to learn to play the same style of music or eventually perform for large groups of people. Yet, everyone does need to know how to best produce sound on their instrument. Therefore, all trial lessons include a brief overview of music, basic instruction of technique, and a discussion about the unique goals of the student. Some of my students bring in their questions each week. Some of my students want me to design their instructional plan. Some of my students enjoy building our lesson time schedule together each week. I focus on what works to help each student reach their goals.
